Eligibility & restrictions
Non-Chinese citizen, in good physical and mental health, having obtained a high school diploma or being a fresh 2026 high school graduate, no more than 24 years old at application. Applicants with one or both parents being Chinese citizens settled abroad who obtained foreign nationality at birth, or who immigrated from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and later acquired foreign nationality, must meet the requirements of Jiaowaihan [2020] No. 12.

Requirements
Language requirements
Chinese: HSK-4 or above transcript valid at the time of application. Exemption: high school graduates of certain countries may be exempted from HSK with a certification letter issued by the education section of the Chinese embassy or consulate in their country; graduates of 63 listed Malaysian secondary schools are exempted from HSK (list in the brochure attachments).
