Requirements

Language requirements

The Chinese proficiency requirement may be met by one of the following: HSK Level 4 with a score of 195 or above; applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in Chinese may submit a certificate from their graduating institution and, after approval, be exempted from the HSK certificate; applicants judged particularly outstanding after comprehensive assessment may be exempted from the Chinese proficiency requirement. Non-native English speakers must achieve TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5. Applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in English may submit a certificate from their graduating institution and, after approval, be exempted from an English proficiency certificate.

Applicants who completed undergraduate or master's studies in Chinese may provide a certificate from their graduating institution and, after approval by the applied school or department, be exempted from the HSK certificate. Bachelor's Degree Certificate and Authentication

Master's applicants must submit their bachelor's degree certificate. Degrees awarded overseas require authentication by CSCSE
Degrees awarded by Chinese mainland universities require authentication by CSSD (the CHSI credential-verification authority). Applicants who will not graduate before the deadline may first submit an expected-graduation certificate and must provide the degree certificate and authentication before registration. Applicants who have graduated must submit the authentication with the application.
