Language requirements
Chinese proficiency must reach HSK Level 4 with a score of 195 or above. Non-native English speakers must achieve TOEFL 90 or above.

Language Proficiency Evidence
Required- Submit the HSK or English score report required in the catalog's Remarks of Application. Applicants who completed undergraduate or master's studies in Chinese may provide a certificate from their graduating institution and, after approval by the applied school or department, be exempted from the HSK certificate. Scholarship applicants must still provide the HSK score report required by the scholarship application.

Personal Statement (PS)
Required- Complete the personal statement directly in the online application system.
Recommendation Letters
Required- Two letters from scholars holding the title of associate professor or above, or senior professionals in a related academic field. Follow the online system instructions to submit recommendations online or upload letters signed by the referees.
Academic & supporting materials
Bachelor's Degree Certificate and Authentication
Required- Master's applicants must submit their bachelor's degree certificate. Degrees awarded overseas require authentication by CSCSE
- Degrees awarded by Chinese mainland universities require authentication by CSSD (the CHSI credential-verification authority). Applicants who will not graduate before the deadline may first submit an expected-graduation certificate and must provide the degree certificate and authentication before registration. Applicants who have graduated must submit the authentication with the application.
Undergraduate Transcript
Required- Submit the undergraduate academic transcript. Applicants who will not graduate before the deadline may first submit their current transcript and must provide the completed transcript before registration. If the transcript does not directly show the total GPA, a university-issued GPA certificate is also required.
