Language requirements

Applicants who are not native English speakers must submit proof of English proficiency. Acceptable documents include: a). A valid official IELTS score report with a minimum overall band score of 6.5; b). A valid official TOEFL iBT score report with a minimum score of 85 (for tests taken before 21 January 2026) or a minimum score of 4.5 (for tests taken on or after 21 January 2026); c). A valid official Duolingo English Test score report with a minimum overall band score of 120. d). A certificate confirming that the applicant’s previous degree program was taught entirely in English.

Applicants who completed undergraduate or master's studies in Chinese may provide a certificate from their graduating institution and, after approval by the applied school or department, be exempted from the HSK certificate. Bachelor's Degree Certificate and Authentication

Required

Master's applicants must submit their bachelor's degree certificate. Degrees awarded overseas require authentication by CSCSE
Degrees awarded by Chinese mainland universities require authentication by CSSD (the CHSI credential-verification authority). Applicants who will not graduate before the deadline may first submit an expected-graduation certificate and must provide the degree certificate and authentication before registration. Applicants who have graduated must submit the authentication with the application.
