Language requirements

ZJU's 2026 English-taught graduate-program language requirements apply to this Chinese-English bilingual program. Applicants whose native language is English are exempt from English proficiency certificates. ZJU recognizes these native-English-speaking countries/regions: American Samoa, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Fiji, Gibraltar, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, The Gambia, Tonga, United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland), United States of America, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Applicants whose native language is not English must provide either a valid IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90, Duolingo 120, CAE 180, or CPE 180 result; a certificate of English-medium instruction issued by the previous institution; or other proof reflecting English proficiency. Applicants seeking exemption from language test scores must upload the relevant documents to the Language Proficiency Certificate section of the ZJU Online Application System.
